Objectives |
- To
develop Christian Leadership among YMCA members through
appropriate training and educational programmes to enable
them to serve their local community
- To
improve the capacity of young people and the underprivileged
to identify and purpose their chosen vocation
- To
sharpen the skills of trainees so that they are marketable
in both the formal and informal sectors
- To
serve people by the provision of facilities, programmes
and activities designed to enrich their spiritual, mental,
cultural and physical development
- To
assist and support in the continuous growth of the YMCA
through the establishment of activity groups and branches
throughout Zimbabwe
- To
facilitate sustainable self-reliance programmes in communities,
for poverty alleviation
- To
advocate on topical issues, including, but not limited to,
human rights, HIV/AIDS, sexual abuse, conflict management
and resolution, environment issues
- To
undertake humanitarian workgroup to raise funds or any other
form of support in order to facilitate the achievement of
the objectives herein
- To
co-operate with any other organizations whose objectives
are similar to those of the YMCA
- To
do such other things that may be incidental or conducive
to the achievement of any of the said objects

The Bulawayo
YMCA share the mission of the national movement which reads,
"The Zimbabwe National Council of Young Men's Christian
Association contributes towards the spiritual, physical, intellectual,
cultural, economic and socio-political well-being of young
people and marginalized groups through empowerment programmes
and promotion of sustainable development.
The YMCA
endeavours to create in open and creative programmes, a strong
and active membership base which sustains the work of the
organisation.
