Aim |
| The
main aim of this project is to increase women's qualitative
participation and influence in policy and decision making
with a clear understanding and commitment from these women
to focus on women's issues while holding those positions.
This project also aims to empower women legislators in technical
capacity and resource allocation so as to minimise the hinderances
to women wanting to rise to positions of decision making.

|
Objectives
|
- To
strengthen the skills and capacity of current women in parliament
so that they can represent women's issues and are able to
take the gender agenda into the decision making process
and product.
- To
raise the awareness of the said candidates on women's issues
and on how to analyse them from a gender perspective and
advocate for the same issues in parliament.
- To
set up a neutral platform (caucus) for WMPs to meet and
discuss gender issues above party lines.
- To
set up a backup and/or support center for research, analysis,
issues articulation, presentation of maiden speeches, bills,
motions and so forth for the women parliamentarians.
- To
facilitate and provide technical, financial and/or material
assistance to women members of parliament.
- Create
and/or strengthen links between women legislators with their
women folk constituency, the local women's movement and
regional/international women's movements.
