Objectives |
| The
overall vision for MS (Danish Association for International
Cooperation) is to promote a peaceful world where cooperation
between people promotes global equity and ensures improved
conditions for poor and marginalised.
The two
interrelated goals that guide the work of MS in the South
are poverty eradication and intercultural cooperation. |
Mission Statement |
| The
mandate of MS is to promote understanding and solidarity between
people and by cooperation across national and cultural boundaries,
to contribute to sustainable global development and a just distribution
of the earth’s resources. |
Thematic Areas |
| The
current Country Programme Strategy for 2008-2012 for MS Zimbabwe
focuses on three main themes i.e. Building local democracy (making
local government accountable and citizen empowerment), Conflict
management and Peace building and Trade Justice. The main target
groups include marginalised women and youth; small scale producers
and traders. MS mainly works through partnerships with local
civil society organisations. The key strategy includes capacity
building of MS partners and their membership in internal governance,
advocacy, information work, project planning, resource mobilisation
and networking. |

Electronic
activism . . . get involved and use ICTs to advocate, lobby and mobilize.
Powerlessness
and silence go together. We should use our positions not as a shelter from the
world's reality, but as a platform from which to speak. A voice is a gift. It
should be cherished and used.
