Objectives
  • To promote and strengthen democratic governance through research, publishing and facilitating discussion of public opinion on topical issues thereby connecting policy makers with the citizens they serve.
  • To facilitate the destruction of the "culture of fear" by encouraging people to express their views on issues that are of concern to them.
  • To become a permanent organisation that promotes and encourages the institutionalisation of democracy in Zimbabwe.
Mission Statement
The institute's mission is to inform policy makers on how citizens feel on the various issues of the day. The hope is that public opinion surveys can be a permanent feature in the conduct of public affairs in Zimbabwe. The institute is inspired by the vision that "good governance" prospers where policy makers are informed by public opinion and that a "culture of fear" declines when citizens are constantly asked to express their views on issues of concern to them.

Activism is my rent on Earth

Electronic activism . . . get involved and use ICTs to advocate, lobby and mobilize.

Powerlessness and silence go together. We should use our positions not as a shelter from the world's reality, but as a platform from which to speak. A voice is a gift. It should be cherished and used.
