“You want to see a menu, mother? What do you want to see on a menu?” the waiter asks me, arms akimbo and a sneer on his lips. “Mother, here you ask us what we are serving today. We don’t do menus anymore. This is a new Zimbabwe. Ask me what I am serving and I will tell you. Today we have two things: chicken wings and pork chops.”

Why the sanctions issue is a red herring
